High School Evo Owners?
i graduate in a month or so and im trying so hard to get an evo before i graduate, alas, its not gonna happen. I think a lot of highschoolers can actually afford it, depending on what you do, for me i teach tennis lessons making about $50 an hour cash. Its very possible, especially if you have saved for a long time.
my father is buying an evo as a result of a divorce (oh how life can have its twist and turns). but I'm junior, and a cpl weeks till 17, but wont get it till mid summer. I'm more excited than he is, thats why I'm the one looking up 24/7 about the car. It's his car under his name, but an evo in a family of two will be driven by two. he already has a decently powered car so its something to get used to. not as big a jump from something like a shat civic, but definitely something big. anyways, being the fact that i will be insured for this car i feel that this car is something that i will have to cherish and give attention to and not do stupid **** with it. my dad and i will start going to tracks together so we can get the good ol' experience of high performance down without having to risk the streets. Wise, my father and i are, well, as wise as we can be!
Were you 100% happy with what you did with the money you worked for? thats pretty much my biggest concern right now....and i dont know if i can afford the insurance?....

I just bought my evo. Couldn't afford a new so I bought it totaled. It was rolled. I gave 12,000 for it. I'll have 17,000 in it by the time I'm done. It has 20,000 miles on it. I think the dealer told me a highschool kid rolled it...... Haha j/k.
i got in a really stupid accident ( i was in a parking lot parked and some one i didnt even know slid into me at 35 while parked) and got mine with the insurance money and lawsuit. For my 18th birthday I decided to buy an evo 9 with the money. Having an evo in high school was a nightmare. I was so scared of parking that thing for fear of eather a jelius kid vandilizing it or some dumb person door dinging it. After a week or so i put in the garage and had my friend pick me up on his way to school. Only about 20 people in my highschool knew i had it for like a month or so then when the word got out everyone wanted to race my car or tell me that daddy bought me a nice car.
i had a flower delivery van as my first car then i saved and bought a honda accord and did a bunch of work on it and auto crossed it. From the accord to the Evo is like night and day. I feel like i won the lottery and my evo is spotless everyday. Im a frosh in college right now and its still scarry to park my car any where near any one else.
Unfortunate that the cars reputation has been tainted by the high school/college kid element. The worst ones are those that insist they paid for it themselves. Yeah sure, along with your rent, insurance, food, tuition, etc. etc.
Thats about the same situation i got into. Im still in HS and everybody comes up to me and says wanna race that yellow bus. Im like dont waste my gas and my time. I dont really street race. And there all like hes a ***** and all. Most ppl at my school know what an evo is but some dont even know evos were made. LOL
