Find someone local that knows Evos and see if they are willing to check the car out for you.

One of the biggest things to watch out for is a car that was previously modded and has been "returned to stock" ... RUN, don't walk, away from such a vehicle.

Second thing to consider is to leave yourself enough money leftover to cover potential maintenance issues, such as a new clutch, etc.
