Question Wingless: how does it feel?

Ok, so I've done my search on the "wingless" topic and I've noticed that the wingless crowd have done the mod for a question of looks...and I agree. I am about to buy a new EVO IX and I feel the wing is a little too much looks wise. On the other hand, Mitsu had give the EVO a wing for a reason. So, here's the question:
those of you that have gone wingless, have you noticed any appreciable difference in the way the car drives and handles, especially at speed? Bear in mind I do a lot of highway driving at fairly high speeds (100mph+). Also read about the vortex generator benefits in terms of drag reduction and downforce increase...anyone wingless with the vg? thanks in advance...

On anything below 80MPH it felt the same to me, again this is street driving. At speeds above the rear end begins to feel "Floaty" but in return you get better high speed acceleration as he wind basically creats drag, removing it is removing a restriction, which is why you see that serious Drag Evo's do NOT have a wing.

With the wing on at higher speeds I feel more downforce on the road. I have the VG on too without the wing and do not notice any difference.. I switch it up once in awhile to keep things different and to avoid some cops when they're PMSing...

@ High speeds the rear will feel a bit lighter, worth the looks for me as I barely go over 75 as it is. Car gets much less attention so it was a no brainer for me. I added a M5 style carbon fiber lip that really gives a tastefull look.

fells the same to me, i went over 130 without the wing and didnt feel the light tail end most talk of. better gas milage and less attention from the cops = much better wingless

i am probably going to put it back on for track days and when i get some more cf stuff to match it on the exterior.

My RS is wingless and I love it. When my buddy (Evo VIII GSR) and I head to the street race scene, people will go directly to his ride first and start asking him about mods etc - No one ever notices mine. I like it that way, personally.

Here is pic of mine from last month when I picked her up!

I went from having a '05 WW GSR to a '06 RR RS and I noticed a change, I felt like I could push the '05 harder around turns and itll stick as well as at higher speeds it was more 'stable'. Something I miss...

with the wing on i noticed a difference at higher speeds, but for just the usual under 80 driving wingless is fine.

Scorke/Rogerv - Well, pic was last month when I picked it up He wanted a wingless butt shot, I was helping out, thats all!

We both have Wicked White Evos. We both have full turbo-back exhausts and have the same authority carbon exhaust shields - but other than that - we are stock looking. (No lips, suspension, wheels tint etc).

The wing attracts more attention, thats all I was saying. I am not complaining, I like the anonymity!

Yes, at higher speeds the wing will help and its proven. But, if I do pursue the road-racing option, I will get a GT200 wing like Nils, Robi and several others.

Also, the VG works only in conjunction with the wing - It actually creates turbulence. Adding it on without a wing is mere bling. There is a PDF document with the papers published by mitsu someone posted - it was a good read.
