Downpipe/CEL/Test Pipe/TBE QUESTION

I recently installed my EBAY tbe on my 9...LOW AND BEHOLD it doesnt fit for SHYTE!!!!! anyways...after the install the dp started rubbing against the acd, cross beam, and oil filter...everything else kinda fit but the dp really throws the fitment off. ok so now my SES/CEL came on, i know i know, its supposed to happen and i know how to fix it...but since i seem to have been screwed by an ebay exhaust (which i had a feeling was gonna happen), i have a come up with an idea....is there anyway possible to get a new dp that fits my 9 and switch from the testpipe to a HFC...and which in turn hopefully turns off the SES/CEL???????? or do i just need a new BRAND NAME tbe??? if you have had the same exp with a prob like this, your input would be very helpful. thanks

Yes, it's very simple. Get a BR DP (or something like it) that is known to clear everything on a IX and will mate right up to the TP.

Um, you don't purchase an HFC just to avoid the CEL - you get a CEL fix. Why would you spend $200+ to lose 10whp only to get rid of the CEL when you can install a $5 fix???

Sorry to hear your issues. This is the reason not to buy off of ebay. They will not give you any post sale support.

i have the same exhaust and had the same fitment problems. the second pic shows where dan put a hammer to the DP. also, i hope you were able to reuse the stock donut gasket to mate the DP to the O2 housing as the included one was essentially useless.

going cheap takes a little more effort but saved quite a bit of money.

I think most people with the 8 and 9 from what I have read have had issues with the DP not clearing the ACD. And like stated above, the hammer has fixed it. But buying something that is supposed to fit is not legit. Worse case if the guy you got it from won't work with you, dispute it.

Helix replica? They're all made in the same Chinese factory and badged with different names anyway.

My Perrin DP and Perrin hi-flo cat fit great and are excellent quality. Still threw a CEL, though. Tossed on an anti-fouler and all is good. Cost around $2.50.

Go to any welding or auto shop, pay them 40$ and have it straightened out. It takes 30 minutes with the right tools. I have a perrin TBE, my friend has the ebay, for 700$ less there is no power sacrifice.

Absolutely not. The same factory that offers the TBE to the ebay Vendor, offered that same TBE to Helix. Helix figured it'd be the more "cost effective" option in terms of offering a TBE for the EVO's.

Maybe because he doesn't want to unecessarily pollute the environment and doesn't want to risk a huge fine for running catless
