the stock tune is ludicrous rich, quite a few of my customers are reporting they are getting better gas mileage after I tuned them.

If I drive 70mph and stay out of it I can get a solid 30mpg any day of the week

Thank you ECU-Flash forum

My friend was beating on the car pretty bad and by no means trying to conserve on gas but it seemed like his gas gauge never moved while mine if I was to drive anything like he did last night I'd be down a quarter tank by then. BTW I'm a much more skilled driver and I drive to conserve on gas not race from stop light to stop light like my friend does. So what gives? Does the Mivec really benefit the IX's that much more or what?
All depends on your tune.

Basically the gearing is nearly the same from the VIII to the IX; with 4th and 5th being a bit different.

Perhaps your Buschur tune is dumping fuel on ya.

I had an 03, and after a Works P2 reflash, my fuel mpg went up like 3-4mpg.

On my 06; I don't really know or care anymore as it's on the track mostly. 6-7mpg on the track and about 24mpg interstate; AMS tuned.

I get aboout 24-26 mpg, with conservative driving, and about 22-24 with a bit more throttle induced driving. Stock IX

That's pretty good for stock and I just averaged 31mpg on a drive to Montana.

I'm shooting for 35mpg @ 70-75mph and I'm pretty sure I can get it AND not throw check engine lights or have some funky tune that is not safe. No tricks or bus pushing me down the road, just real honest to god MPG.

I'll post my findings on the ECU-Flash section because that's what I use.
