SRS Light came on!
Hi guys,
So here's what happened. I got my car washed the other day and apparently my sunroof was open a little. Good times, let me tell you. Anyway, a small amount of water got into my car on the seats and whatever but I think some of the water might have went down the a-pillars because later while I was sitting in traffic a little later the SRS light came on. What do you guys think I should do? Any feedback would really be appreicated.

I would disconnect the battery and dry the inside using an electric fan or a hair dryer or put under the sun with open windows. Hopefully, it'll clear it up and prevent any major short circuit. The input above is a better approach. My 2cents

Thanks guys - I did some searching also - they said that teh SRS light is a seperate thing so I dont know if the Autozone thing will work but I am def gonna try. They also said there is a seperate battery for the SRS (which im still gonna check) Do you guys think there is a safety concern?
The SRS light and the check engine light are entirely different. Autozone will not be able to pull the code off of your car. You might have to take it to the dealer to see what is wrong. I would try drying everything up, and look on the9volt.com for instructions on resetting the srs light. On hondas its a PITA

Eh, it could of just been a minor short from the water. I would just try and dry it and go from there. You can get the srs light from unplugging your air bag and your fine, it wont go off, unless you get it and the sensor detects that you got hit
i got my SRS light turned on after i installed an alarm, and i used my matco scanner to turn off the air bag light. If u have any friends have those professional OBD 2 scanners, then use it, if not, go find a shop has those scanners to clear the code
here is the way to clear your 95 honda civic/\
SRS Indicator Light
1. Connect the SCS service connector to the MES connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
3. The SRS indicator light comes on for about SIX SECONDS and goes off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within FOUR SECONDS after the SRS indicator light went off.
4. The SRS indicator light comes on again. Reconnect the SCS service connector to the MES connector within FOUR SECONDS after the SRS indicator comes on.
5. The SRS indicator light goes off. Remove the SCS service connector from the MES connector within FOUR SECONDS .
6. The SRS indicator light indicates that THE MEMORY IS ERASED BY BLINKING TWO TIMES.
enjoy..

lol alot of people think you can simply pull the code and/or erase it. the SRS light is gonna need to be removed from the dealer from what i read on here awhile ago and most say it costs about $80. from what i read they are like the only ones cabale of pulling that kind of code and getting rid of it for you. i also have my srs light on but that was my fault cause i unplugged the yellow wire near my headlight when the battery waas connected but depending on how concerned you are for safety you should get it checked out.
Unfortunately nothing short of getting it reset with an SRS reset tool will take if off. No amount of remvoing the batt, removing fuses will help. Mine happened when my condenser was being changed and they unplug one of the yellow plugs without removing the neg batt cable. Luckily they had an SRS scanner and cleared it. I would also check behind the radio and cubby hole to see if water got on those yellow abs plugs before you get it scanned. It wont remove the code but may help the scanner reset it.
