Is my stock 8 BOV leaking??? Please help!!!

A friend and I installed a Prosport boost guage and a Used Dejon tool boost controller. Everything seemed fine for the install. Once I drove the and gunned it 3rd gear it hit 25psi and climbing. So i turn it down a lot and drove the evo again and it still did the same thing. I notice that the hose that is in between the wastegate actuator and bc did not have an orphas(plastic bleeder). So, I put one in the hose and it still did the same thing. My buddy and I came to a conclusion and thought that the DJ TOOL mbc was no good and decided to take it off and put on the stock solinoid.

I take my car for a test drive and now it's only hitting 10-11psi. The gauge was installed properly(triple checked it) and I now thinking it's the bov leaking.

Here what mods I have on my evo 9:
1. Full 80mm tbe
2. HKS hybrid drop-in filter.

P.S. Please don't ask me why I have a evo 8 bov!

When you tried to put it back to the stock setup did you use the factory vaccum lines and fittings?

It is probably that bleeder you speak of. You want to run a line from your WGA to your MBC and one from your MBC to a boost source and that is it. No bleeder or anything. If you were running 25psi you probably didnt adjust the MBC enough or you messed with your WGA preload and it is too tight.

It sounds like your running on base WG pressure, get that bleeder out of there and turn the BC down more. I would completly rule that out before coming to the conclusion the BOV is leaking 10-11psi.

It was hitting 25psi, because you didn't hook it up right. No idea why you put a bleeder in it with the MBC installed.

Then, when you went back to stock, you again didn't install the stock system properly. You have to use the 100% OEM hoses installed in the proper configuration.

This has nothing to do with the BOV - you just messed up the boost connections. Why would we question you have an VIII BOV when you have an VIII?

Ah, his damn "drives" section is way too long. Just put your one car there, folks. No need to write a paragraph.
