some Evo questions

Hello all
Will be purchasing a new car and its down to a Evo or a GTO. The GTO will be a 2004 and the Evo will be an 8. Can somebody give me the 0-60 and 1/4 times of the Evo 8? Also has anybody on here gone from an Evo to a GTO or vice versa? Thanks

0-60 times are for magazine racers and ricers. 60' times are what you should be concerned about, and the Evo runs those under 2 seconds easy (I cut a 1.6 60' stock with my IX). 1/4 should go by in mid to low 13's with a decent driver. What year 8? And why not a IX?

If I can find a sweet deal on a IX than that would be the way to go. Prob a 2005 8.

Check the dealerships on the West Coast... they're handing out great deals on IX's. Worth it to buy one out there and fly to pick it up and drive it home.

0-60 times you get from magazines. That's not something normal people can measure accurately.

1/4-mile times are posted in the Drag Racing forum, so just search around. My 05 ran 13.1 stock.

I actually rode in a blown GTO. Man that thing can really push you back in your seat, but it's a dog in the corners.

If all you care about is straight line drag, then get the GTO.

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say the evo is probably better in every aspect of performance, as well as asthetics. IMO.

Depends on how modded the EVO is.

Actually with alittle money the GTO suspension could be stiffened up. Not to how a EVO would handle, but not too shabby.

A highway roll is considered "an aspect of performance"? I hope not.

An 04 GTO, which is what we're talking about, would probably trap about the same as an avg IX if driven well.
