getting clutch replaced under warranty
getting clutch replaced under warranty
I noticed my clutch was starting to slip in higher gears on my IX MR so I took it to the dealership to get it checked out. They told me they'd have to charge $340 for 4 hours of labor just to get it checked out and that they couldn't tell me if they could cover it under warranty untill afterwards. Well 2 days later I finally get an answer. They're going to cover the clutch and pressure plate and all the work. The only thing I have to pay for is getting the flywheel resurfaced and bearings replaced which will cost me $240 total. Car might not be ready till monday though, and it's been in the shop since tuesday morning. I guess I can't complain too much since they're actually covering it under warranty, but the car has less than 10k miles on it so they damn well should be.
Congrats. Yeah, somehow the clutch on my car was replaced under warranty at 11k miles before I owned it. The previous owner was somehow able to sneak a ACT into it for the covered labor. Hope your new lasts longer....
Lucky luck guys. The district manager here in my town is an *******. And the funny thing is, i've only owned this car 1 week, 3 days & I already have had a TERRIBLE experience with him, AND mitsubishi corporate.
Says something abouts Mitsubishi, doesnt it?..

Yeah other than being a bit slow I guess this dealership is still in good standing with me. However I have talked to them about aftermarket parts and they said that all I could do without voiding the warranty would be a catback exhaust and a dropin filter. Getting an aftermarket clutch and me paying the difference in cost was out of the question without voiding the warranty.
well you do have understand that they arent just gonna pay for everything on your car to be replaced for you...but it sure would be nice to get my brembos replaced...i hear of people doing it but i have had no luck

Well I finally got my car back. Ended up only costing me $95. They said they found some "bluing" on the pressure plate after they had already approved it for warranty and that I should be careful of "over reving" next time. Guess I can't complain, but they did give the car back with 14 miles driven (supposedly, I'm gonna have to start writing down the milage myself next time) and the gas on E, and the trip odometer reset. I'm not sure if that resets if you disconnect the battery, since that did happen because all my radio settings are screwed up. Also my alarm chirp is a lot quieter than it used to be so now I have to go through the whole security system and see if the settings are still the same :-/ Oh and there's a thing in my windshield that says I got a complimentary wash and wax but I sure couldn't tell just form looking at the car, lol.
First of all, losing your trip odometer is natural when you unplug the battery. Secondly, I'm happy for you that your out of pocket cost was only $95. I seriously hope that when it comes time to try to do any warranty work that my experience was as amicable as yours.
