Cone Filter VS. Intake
1.Without a tune, you'll gain more power from a cone filter... with a tune you'll gain more power from a true intake? Or will the power be somewhat the same?
2.The only thing I could see, with an intake metal pipe, its easier for air to flow through, rather than through the bundle of rugged pipe that comes stock.
3.How are the noise levels compared with the two? Im assuming the metal pipe would be a little bit louder with it being able to echo easier off the metal piping, or essentially are they the same?
4.Say you gain 4whp with just the cone filter... how much power can be extracted with a flash afterwards ... from JUST the filter. (I know you can get about 20whp out of the car bone stock, but how much out of the filter itself, perhaps 8-10?) How much extra power could be extracted out of Intake? 15ish?
Im looking to buy the K&N cone filter for $60 from AMS... lmk your opinions.
EDIT: Oops, should have put this in the Engine forum... sorry mods.

Leave the stock airbox on unless you're running a bigger turbo or an agressive tune. Most times, a good free-flowing panel filter (like BMC for example) is more than enough for stock applications to moderately tuned vehicles.
