What to buy

I have been doing a lot of looking. I'm looking at the car to get next. My considerations have been the Evo, Audi S4, and 03-04 cobra (I know a little out of place, but come on). Now if budget wasn't a question I would get an RS4 (great performance, great looking, sleeper esk). Regardless, what do you all think. This will be my daily driver. Any opinion you guys have would be great.

You are on an Evo site. What do you think we are going to say?

I think the S4 is in a completly different segment than the other two cars you posted. The Cobra is a fast car with ****ty ford interior build quality and asthetics.
The Evo has good build quality, but is just lacking in it's appointments. The S4 is best "all around" car of the ones your posted, but if speed is what you are looking for, then i would go with the Evo. ***im thinking you are looking at teh V-8 S4, but if you are looking at the 2.7L TT S4 i have this to say*** The 2.7L TT is a nice motor, the car can be really quick, and it's nicely appointed, but it's a ***** to work on. If you decide you want to swap out the stock turbos, be prepared to drop the motor to do it. Parts don't come cheap at all. I think the Evo would be your best bet out of the three, the cobra just has too many traction issues when you get decent power under the hood.... and while IMO it's the best looking mustang ever on the exterior, the interior is t3h suck!

The interior in the evo and cobra aren't fantastic; the Audi is far superior in this aspect. Yes I am looking at the V8 S4. My biggest concern, being a DD, is replacement part cost. Yes evo parts are expensive, but this is an audi. Another concern is the gas mileage. While the evo gets something like 18 to 26 and the cobra 16 to 24 the S4 get like 13 to 19. Please don't give me the "gas mileage doesn't matter in a performance car" speech. I know that I'm not going to get 30mpg. This isn't a civic we're talking about. I am mostly wondering about the driveablity of all three. I'm not crazy on mods, not yet anyway. Thanks for your info.

I had a B5 S4 (the TT one) and it was a nice car.

It rode smooth, was quick (I had a Stage 2 S4), and was very luxurious.

Downside is that maintenace and parts are expensive, modifications are expensive, and DIY stuff is a big pain (the engine is literally shoe-horned into the car).

I suggest a nice Subaru Legacy GT.

I second Legacy GT. You sound like you are not interested in going that fast. Evo's suspension is very stiff, attract attention from cops, and over all, not to practical. I love it because I can carry my family and not too many cars can keep up with me. As for gas milleage, It depends on how you drive, too. Legacy GT is a very nice car. It's got AWD, and interior is far nicer than Evos. And with turbo engine, it is alot faster than it looks. I had the 3.0 NA version n Japan, and I was able to keep up with R32 Skyline, 180SX, and etc.

When you get a car, you win some, and you lose some. You gotta decide which feature you want the most. I'd say Legacy is a good combination of luxuary and performance.

The legacy GT is a nice car, I walk my friends S4 all the time in my evo. Not sure if the S4 reacts well with aftermarket parts, and but like 6-speed says euro cars are b*tch to work on and parts are pretty expensive for any OEM part and aftermarket. Cobra are pretty fast too but its muscle. So go what you want and what you feel like you *need*
