To TBE or not to TBE that is the Question
I am going to be the disent opinon here.
Keep it stock. It's ALMOST as fast as a modifed car with an intact warrenty. Who doesn't know that the bolts are all painted so mitsu can tell if they have been removed?
Maybe just get a flash that will eliminate the factory crap tune and get you that majority of the power of a TBE without the noise.

Depends on which one you get, as long as you avoid N1 style exhausts with no resonators you should be ok. If sound is big factor, look into a Fujitsubo, or Greddy SP2 exhaust, and use a high flow cat.
I have 2, one with full exhaust no resonator and the other just a downpipe with HFC. It's depend on you, on the TBE car, it's loud but you feel raw and pump, basically you feel like driving. It could getting tire easily too after a while you may get a headache especilly in my place I have to keep looking around to make sure no popos around.
On the non-TBE, it's quiet, very quiet after switching back from the other car. Basically you fell like cruising and the car feel more expensive. It's also boring quickly. By the way, don't expect any aftermarket exhaust to be quiet like the stock one on both cruising and WOT.
So it's depend on that you want a life up and down like stock market or you want a flatliner one.

Perrin TBE with Perrin HFC. Almost too quiet for what I wanted. I love it on the highway - no buzz, drone, resonance, or ear/headache. Plenty of personality when wide open on throttle. Sticks out far enough to not dirty your bumper. Fits like OEM. No cop problems so far.
So, yes, you really should. My old ebay exhaust got 24whp with the Perrin HFC and had better boost characteristics than stock.

I did the Tanabe TBE with cat delete and used the mechanical 02 sensor fix. I had the works flash, drop in filter and upgraded the clutch and flywheel. The car is much more fun and a good daily driver. No issues and I even have cruise control. I use the muffler insert to keep it quite but one bolt and it is out and loud if desired. I higly recommend it, better power and fuel economy. Will
