don't worry it's normal. it's probably the TOB. no need to stress.

ITs been discussed quite abit and there are a couple of long threads on it. You'll probably notice it goes away when you push the clutch in. Yes its the TOB and yes most every stock clutch/TOB Evo does it.

thanks everyone, but one other thing, does that mean my throw out bearing is going bad, or its just a normal noise it makes?

I've wondered about this noise to. What i dont understand is if it is the TOB it shouldn't be making noise when the AC is on. Mine 06 MR does the same thing. Correct me if I'm wrong though. the TOB is directly related to the clutch linkage and should not be making noise because of the AC, right?

Yea, what does the TOB have to do with the AC compressor? Either way the compressor is super noisy. It's super annoying and totally normal.

It could actually be the CLUTCH on your AC compressor going bad. That happened to me, that is what my guess would be. A TOB doesn't care if the AC is on or not!LOL. Could be bad AC clutch, or just a normal noisy one.

I think the noise is always there, its just becomes more apparent when the A/C is on because the load on the engine changes, espcially at idle.

Normal. It sounds like something is loose and rattling at idle then gets louder when the compressor kicks on right. Do you hear it on deceleration too? I think that's just our noisy drive train. Clunks, clanks, and rattling, I f-ing love it.

check the cooling fan right in front of the radiator right behind the intercooler. My friends car was rattling doing the same thing and it turned out that the fan retainer holding the fan blade to the motor broke and the fan was ratting while it hit the a/c condenser which was making the noise. Check the fan and check you a/c compressor because the noise also could be the magnetic clutch. When the a/c is turned on both fans are activated at times. Check it out.
