Well i have an EVO IX and it seems to run really rich. it has TBE, intake, BOV w/ upper i/c pipe, mini battery, and an ecu reflash but it shoots out so much black smoke and i was wondering if anyone else is having these problems?

same problem here but at WOT my air fuel is fine but 2 seconds from a WOT pull i here a pop and then it happends

 

Yes that is exactly how it is and once i get past 5000 rpms it starts to act like it is cutting out. im not sure wuts going on

 

Evo's run rich, the black smoke is normal. A rich tune is a safe tune. The cutting out above 5,000rpm is not normal. Have you made any changes to the car sinch it was tuned?

 

i did have an mbc on there and i took it off so i wouldnt be tempted to turn it up more and since mine is an mr it has the factory temp gauge and when it gets hot it starts to run wierd when its cool it runs fine. i might just need a tune im not sure.

well it very weird for me i look and i see no black smoke so im def running oil threw my cylinders, its gray so im thinking its my head some where cause it only does it at WOT let off????
