02 housing a good mod?

so what do you guys think about replacing the stock O2 housing with a aftermarket one such as megans. I look around the forums and i see that alot of people have done the mod but has any one felt a difference after doing the mod?

I spoke with AMS on friday and i was told that the mod was very minor and that i should skip it and just run the stock O2 housing.

Please let me know what you guys think? i am searching and searching for a mod todo to my car where i can see a result.

I have an 05 MR
3 inch TBE
KN drop in

I dont want to use a boost controler yet because im not ready to tune. Im making the drive to AMS in the fall (7 hour drive) and tunning after i have all the mods i can get.

I would assume the O2 housing would benefit you more than an 'o3 or '04 since you have the 10.5 hotside on your turbo. I currently have a Megan tubular manifold, O2 housing and TBE on my car (came on the car when i bought it) and I am getting tuned to make the best of the mods on the car. If you already have the TBE, Its the only piece you're missing. As for performance, I'm not sure what gains the Megan O2 housing will actually give you. I'd go with a full intake setup first IMO.

That would be a good choice. It's better to buy the whole kit instead of trying to piece it together. It would save you the trouble in the long run.

like most other things, you have to get the whole deal to really feel something i.e. ported manifold,o2 housing, and turboback, otherwise you will notice next to nothing, and you will need a tune too

Driving 7 hours for a tune is crazy! In my opinion

download ecuflash.....$0.00 http://www.openecu.org/index.php?title=Main_Page
buy tactrix cable........$89.00 http://www.tactrix.com/product_info....ccee0d287b3bf0

get a ecuflash from ttp,jestrtuning, mellon, etc......$50-$150

you are going to feel alot more gains with a flash than from any o2 housing. i would invest in a fuel pump, mbc, and a e-flash.

more answers to flashing using ecuflash can be found here https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=237869

o2 housing is PITA to install, et least in my experience. If you really want to, the lower intercooler pipe will help alot.

I want to make this clear. The LICP is not a power mod.

I have a ported stock 02 housing from Buschur. I'd have to agree with WORKS... skip it for now or get one and keep it on the side until you have a reason to pull the turbo. I don't recall any difference. A LICP made a bigger difference than my ported 02 housing.

Would you care to elaborate your reason?
