HKS SS BOV Question...
Some guys have luck with them not making their car stall, others are not so lucky. Save your money to buy something else. You won't need an aftermarket bov unless your pushing gobs of boost. If it's the sound your looking for, there are other ways of getting some noise out of the stocker.
I experienced this on my VW. One 1.8t could run a VTA valve just fine, but others would stall and act just plain stupid. My VW was one of the stupid ones. Even taking a valve that worked fine on my friends 1.8t and installing it on mine caused issues. Turbo cars are just temperamental.
you probably don't "need" and aftermarket BOV/DV yet. But, I like the car to scare people on the sidewalk when I drive by so I'm right there with you.
I recently tuned an IX with an aftermarket intake filter and pipe and it was LOUD. It is much louder than the VTA I had on my VW even at partial throttle. The sound isn't like a HKS SS, but it's still mean sounding.
