Hey guys. I have an 03 evo and I need help on choosing the best ems. I plan i hitting 11's (11.99) and 380-425hp. The car will contain a turboback exhaust (catless), hks 272 in/ex cams, ss manifold, stock turbo/block, bushur intake, 2.5in intercooler piping, turbosmart bov, a methanol kit, 660/700 injectors, and thinking about buying a bigger intercooler. I have an safc II right now and was thinking about getting a flash then tuning the afc ontop of the flash. But with the afc theres not many options and timing control would be difficult. I want to sell the safc and get either a utec or an ecu+. What do you guys think would be the best ems for my power goals? thanks

 

I wouldn't really get the UTEC IMO. Not that many strides have been made with it on the evo so far. ECU+ is pretty good especially with the OBDII options available. If you're going to go full standalone I would reccomend AEM, autronic, or Motec. For your power goals to be honest though, the Stock ecu with a darn good tune or even EcuTek flash would probably be the most logical and economical.

 

Tom has made leaps and bounds with the ECU+. I hovered around looking for information on it, and finally purchased it, I absolutely love it. I've never used anything else though, so I can't make an unbiased opinion.
