It's better than gettin a whole new fender, though. What the body shop will probably do is have PDR take it out and sometimes when it comes out the paint is likely to crack or chip. But you were sayin that your paint was scratched already, so, all they'll do is sand it and blend it. Shouldn't be more than $500.

i just replaced my door and fender, i paid 475 for the ferder and like 500 for the door from mitsu,the fenders on the evos are aluminum and only like a 2lbs and its very hard to pull dents and workwith aluminum your better off buyin a new fender this way a year from now the body work wont sink back into the aluminum and youll see a ring from the body work, if its not done right. dont get aftermarket fender its just not the same as mitsu the and will be hard to get the same gaps in between the door and fender and the hood the fender just my 2 cents ...

 

Go with aftermarket fenders. =)
