shift light hook up

I am going to install a shift light onto my 05' evo to help with consistency while shifting. Where would I hook the wires to?

Do I need a tach adapter or can I hook it to the stock ignition?

I hooked into my tach signal right off the harness of the cluster. Cant think of which one, but I am thinking the green wire on the drivers side harness.
