well its been doing this lately (03 evo 8) when i start my car in the morning or anytime its been resting for a few hours, when i put my car in reverse, if i dont back out really really slowly the engine will move up and down badly, but only doest this when the car is cold, when its fully warmed up and i park it and reverse out i have no problems? could this be a bad mount?

 

go to local shop, lift the car up and inspect.

 

I have the same exact problem!!

When cold and I reverse out the motor seems to hop really bad and right after when I take off in 1st it does the same thing.

I havent taken it anywhere to check it out yet.

 

in the morning how long are you warming the car up? how does the car feel while driving around town or wot? visually and physically (make sure they are torque to the proper specs) inspect the upper motor mounts. jack the car up, take the plastic underpanel off and double check the lower motor mount.

 

i warm up my car for a min, it only does it first thing in the morning the rest of the day the car is fine.

 

i warm mines up at the least 3min but try not to usaully move until fully warm takes about 5 min for me...but in the morning i start it and it shuts off then starts up fine 2nd time only when cold this happens?

 

is this normal the engine moving up and down in the morning?

 

Do you guys not know where your motor mounts are? I would think you could see them
