Grinding Into Reverse

I just transfered over from the world of VW into a 06 evo mr. I love the car but i only have one complaint so far, When i start my car up on a cold start and go right to reverse it grinds. I have been just putting it in first and then into reverse and its fine but if there is a way to fix this i would like to know!! Can someone help please??

TIA

Sounds like syncro's going bad, try clutch peddle adjustment for now, but may need rebuild.

The car only has 30k on it. I was hoping it was just something minor. I do still have warranty though so that'll be nice if its something serious

Sounds like your clutch is dragging. Is it hard to put in into gear? You can try to adjust the clutch. If that doesn't work, its new clutch time.

It definitely is a syncro.

Get in there before your warranty is up because it is a very expensive job!

Does it do this every time, or just every so often? Try putting it into first, first, then drop it into rev. and let it warm up a bit, dont just start it, and take off.

but ya, "synchros" are probobly going...

Try changing out the fluids and see what happens, it might be your synchros but do a process of elimination 1st.

does it go into 1st easy first thing when it's cold?

drop it into 4th and then shift to reverse, does it go smooth into reverse then?
