new EVO walk around...
Could be picking up a new '06 EVO MR shortly. Was hoping some folks could share experiences of what we should look out for when taking delivery. The plan is to ask if we can take delivery of the car in the showroom. If the dealership refuses to pull the car into the showroom for delivery we will only pick it up during the day.
Anything specific to look for? The car will be a Delaware car so there will be no front mounted license plate holder. We have requested no dealer badging. Is there a toolkit that comes with the car? Do MRs come with floormats? All suggestions will be appreciated...
I could be taking delivery for my brother so I don't want to miss anything.

One thing I would remind you is to check all of the body panels, including front and rear bumpers to make sure they were never repainted or anything. Sometimes, the dealer accidentally scratches the car, and has the part repainted. I got my friend free foglights when he bought an RSX because the back bumper was repainted.

check for mileage, scratches, dings or scrapes underneath the body panel. make sure paint matches( it has happend before that I know of in the evo that was crashed and repainted but since it was still under the dealer's name=no title, it was repainted and sold as new.) I prefer to see the plastic covering of the seats, trunk mats still in the trunk, etc. most dealers because of PDI, removes all the plastic coverings etc. then lastly-new car smell! congratulations and enjoy your evo! remember the "break-in" period!
its too early in the morning for me to remember everything but one lil tip. theres two small circle panel that covers two bolts that help hold the bumper on. its located approximately 2 inches above the 2 cooling holes next to the IC opening. one side is hard to see if you have front plates. either way alot of dealers forget to have both on.
thanks for the start here...
any plastic bits that have found to been cracked, missing or loose?
should we be looking for floor mats that have the EVO logo on them or anything like that? any EVO specific kit that might be missing?
thanks again all...

everything above plus check under front bumper for scratches, Evo driven up on curbs etc. Tire wear. Check alignment (does it go straight), if it's off let them foot the bill. Make them do a car fax on it for you (on their nickel) especially if it has more than 5 miles on it.
The 06 MR should have floormats that say "EvolutionMR". Mine came with the gauge package also.
Be sure to check mileage also. My 06 MR came with no holes for the front license plate (which is what I wanted) so you may want to check for that, although some dealers will say they get them like that...
