SRT-4 Owner
Coming from a Srt4... Driving a Evo is way better.. Dont have to worry about PTB. and trying to figure out which color vac line will give you the most Hp/Tq (Srt owners know what I mean) New Boost leaks every week. I could go on and on but I'll let someone else speak on it. Im glad I got out of my skittle and got a EVO IX MR.
Thanks for the comments everyone. Seems like a few former SRT owners seem happy with the switch, which is a plus. My budget right now is very tight, and isn't much at all, but its growing, and you never can tell what will happen within the next coming months. Im just going to keep on saving, and see what things look like around the middle of next year financially, then take it from there.
^^ Im around the Rome area, Rockmart to be specific, ****ty town, I hate it. I used to go up to Cobb County, on Barett Parkway on the weekends with some friends, I usually see an Evo or 2 everytime I go up there. One time this guy had a Black 8 I believe, with a GT35R, had stock rims painted bronze, apparently the owner got artessted for racing and his friend was driving it for him. Damn thing would move.
It depends on how you drive the car, if the car is driven hard then yes you will have issues. I've never had any problems with mine I dont beat on it. The only problem I had were taking the damn bolts off when I put in my springs. lol

Can some former SRT owners elaborate as to why the EVO>SRT? I mean, I know AWD>FWD, Evo looks ALOT better IMO, but what else? I love my SRT, just wanting some change, and I think of myself as a DSM guy at heart, they were my 1st love in the car world, I would just get a 2g GSX, but I can't justify spending 7-10K for a decent one, just to have the motor crap out on me and swap in a 6 bolt, etc. Maybe sometime down the rode when I can spare garage space. Same goes for the 1g's. Maybe some pros and cons of both the EVO and SRT, from former SRT owners would really help. Thanks for all the responses guys, keep em coming.
i used to have a 05 srt-4 acr edition, changing to the evo for another 4,000.... youll love it, traction all the time faster insanely bettter handling and looks better.. youll also get better mpg since taht srt4 turbo spools so ****n quick you cant avoid boost
yay we are converting SRT4 owners to EVO7/8/9

yeah do wat everyone is saying, research alot. these things are fast however maintenance is a big thing (oil changes, diff fuild, tranny, etc) plus mods....god the mods! i love mods lol, however no matter what, everyday i see my car and that smile appears knowing that i'm one of the lucky people that own a Evo

Yea there is a lot of up keep on them but its not that bad. Just keep saveing up for it. And i got the 8 but wanted the 9 could not afford it at the time though but i love my 8 so good luck man
Pros:
I gues I like having Power REAR windows. Seats fell nicer...
WHen I throw a bigger turbo on the EVo. The Manifold is in the Front instead of the back..... Can also use the stock mani instead of buying a whole new turbo kit. Srt4 you need a returnline. Evo's you dont.. ECU-Flash is Free... Dtec is used with a gameboy advanced.
Cons: $$$$$$$$$$$ for everything. Gotta play to play though.
I can probalby think of more but I'll let someone else chime in.
(I did beat down alot of cars in my skittle)
