mr's usually have the badging and a 6 speed and gauges...gsrs are usually 5 speed with the spoiler...can be 8's or 9s... and evo RS's dont have a spoiler and they have gauges and they are 5 speed
EVO MR=05+ it has BBS wheels, vortex generator, aluminum roof, six speed, bilstein shocks, inrerior gauges, and probably something else that's slipping my mind right now.
EVO RS=stripped down model. aluminum roof, no radio, no power locks, no power windows, no wing, etc.
EVO GSR=anything in between. lol. Most EVOs you'll see are all GSRs.
All the EVOs 03-04 are either RS or GSR. It's kinda tough to find a RS, you'll probably find more GSRs. All EVOs have the same engines though with the same power.
As for 05, the engine is the same as the 03-04 with a few exceptions, mainly being the 10.5 hotside.
The EVO IX has MIVEC and the bigger hotside as well...
hope this helps. good luck with youe hunt.

"GSR" is the most common trim level for Evos overseas, typically smack-dab in the middle of the Evo lineup... kind of like how the Integra GS-R was above the GS and LS but below the Type-R. We never officially had a GSR in the U.S., but people call the standard Evo a GSR anyway for reference purposes.
'03 Evo: 271 hp, 273 lb.-ft, viscous center LSD, mechanical rear LSD, intercooler sprayer, HIDs, standard Lancer wing (larger carbon-fiber wing was optional but already installed on most Evos)
'04 Evo: Same
'04 Evo RS (new for '04): Adds a front LSD, aluminum roof, and gauges but loses the HIDs, wing, power windows, power locks, stereo, sound deadening, trunk lining, painted door handles, painted mirrors
'05 Evo: Slightly larger turbo components, 276 hp, 286 lb.-ft, front LSD, ACD, carbon-fiber wing (now standard); no more intercooler sprayer or HIDs (except with the SSL--Sun, Sound & Leather--Package, which includes HIDs, sunroof, leather, upgraded audio system)
'05 Evo RS: Same upgrades as the '05 Evo but lacking the same things that the '04 Evo RS lost compared to the standard model
'05 Evo MR (new for '05): Same upgrades as the '05 Evo but with Bilstein shocks, aluminum roof, black vortex generator, anthracite BBS wheels, 6-speed transmission, carbon-fiber E-brake handle, aluminum shift knob, gauges, HIDs
'06 Evo: MIVEC, 286 hp, 289 lb.-ft, new front bumper, smoked headlights, smoked tail lights, lighter Enkei wheels, hollow carbon-fiber wing, black and gray interior, black steering wheel, faux carbon-fiber dash trim, slightly different gearing
'06 Evo RS: Same upgrades as the '06 Evo but lacking the same things that the two previous RSs lost compared to the standard model
'06 Evo MR: Same upgrades as the '06 Evo but with the extras of the '05 Evo MR
'06 Evo SE (new for '06, introduced mid-year): Same upgrades as the '06 Evo but with aluminum roof, red-stitched interior, diamond black BBS wheels, HIDs and deeper front lip
'06 Evo MR Appearance Package (introduced mid-year, also referred to as MR SE): Basically an MR with the SE's upgrades
Obviously the SEARCH button or even Wikipedia has all the answers you seek, but anyway:
