I"m a newb, just have a few questions. Right now I drive a 03 RSX Type S. I love the car, but its kind of cramped in the way of leg/head room. I went up to the Mitsu dealer today and sat in an Evo. It seemed like it had a little more leg room, but the head room seemed around the same. Unfortunately they didn't have one up there without a sunroof.

I was wondering if there is much of a diffrence in headroom without the sunroof? And I was wondering how you taller guys fit in your Evo?

I'm trying to decide whether or not I wanna keep the RSX or sell/trade it in to get an Evo. I've only heard good things about the car, and I wouldn't mind having a car with torque either The 270 hp and AWD doesn't hurt either. Has anyone else made a similar change? And if you did, did you ever regret it?

Might have babbled, kinda tired, but I guess I got my general concern across

Dude my boy here at work rides in my evo all the time... the guy is 6'5 and 300 something pounds. Youll fit, you just have to the seat; as you would probably have to do in almost any sports car.

5'4", 135lbs, never had problem with space in any car, lol. no regret in tradin in my Si for the evo. Honda/Acura have no freaking tq just good gas mil.

 

Yes, there's a big difference in headroom with vs. without the sunroof. There's close to 2 inches more room without the sunroof.

I'm 6'1" and sit very upright in my seat (the seatback is practically at a 90 degree angle). There's plenty of room over my head. I can even fit with a Bell SA-rated heltmet on...and these things are TALL!

Plus, there's a seat-rail kit I remember reading about on this forum somwhere that lowers the seat height by an inch or two. That should be more than you'll ever need.

My buddy Rich (Ricardon) is a tall ****, too and he races a lot. He had RMR fabricate him a bracket for his race seat that is VERY low. He has headroom with his helmet now.

Besides being a great ride.... one of the main deciding factors for the evo was how roomy it is compared to others. I'm 6'3" 240 and its no prob. and it has a real back seat.
wrx, g35, acura tl, audi s4, bmw m3, all to small for me . so its my vette and my evo.

 

Sendthe member( snoop) a Pm he just traded his Acura Rsx for an Evo a few months back and he can give you some good feed back.

 

I'm 6'3" and my Evo has a sunroof. Without my helmet on I have plenty of room. With my helmet on I hit my helmet on the inside rim of the sunroof frame, primarily due to the fact I sit pretty upright during track and autocrosses enabling me to bring my wrists over the the steering wheel. If I was to recline it back a bit for regular street driving I'm sure it would be fine (guessing me with a helmet would be close to you without a helmet.
