hi just wanted to welcome myself to the forum. i currently drive an 07 volkswagen gti with dsg and am looking to switch to an evo8. i joined here to learn about evo's and what good companies are out there for em. [im kindof a noob when it comes to jap cars, so all i know of is cobb, megan racing, vishnu, and aem] as well as try to trade my car for an evo or just buy an evo. so anyone in norcal looking to sell, pm me and maybe we can work something out

Ones newer, and has IX instead of VIII... haha.

and yeah i'm aware of the search button, i just checked and thank you. so that adds an extra 10 hp? why do people say that the evo9 is less hardcore then?

 

i thought ALL Evos were hardcore but anyways.. if you put the same mods on a stock 8 vs. 9...... the 9 will yield substantially more power than the 8.. much better tune ability..

too bad i can't afford the 9 unless 4-5 grand magically appears in my account.

If you cant afford the 9 i would recommend get an 05 evo 8 not an 03-04... unless your going to be doing a turbo upgrade soon after your purchase. the 03-04 evo 8's have a smaller 9.8cm hotside on there turbo along with a few extra bugs that the 05+ evos dont have. the 05 evos have a 10.5 cm hotside.. just one less mod you'll have to do later on if you get the 05+
