The Ix is faster. the Turbo is a little better, and MIVEC as well. If you plan to upgrade turbos and build the car up to high HP then the VIII may be jst as good for you. The intercooler sprayer is only on 03-04s and to be honest it is a joke it doesnt do much if anything lol.

That IX is also a good deal. it was modded but a tastfully which makes it very appealing. the VIII had some visual mods whih I am not a fan of like the full carbon wing. which always says to me it must have some motor mods and is possible someone liks to drive hard. All I can suggest id go test drive them and look at them in very close detail and see which one is hte better pick for you. You wont be dissapointed with either as long as they are both in top performing shape

that nine looks like a good deal. drive it and see what u think. ohh and we used to be a good community and it all started changing in the last year or so. there are still some of us OGs around that are cool and helpful. u just gotta find us. we hide from the mean new cool kids.

i have an 8, i think they are a much better deal than the 9.. especially since you will be modding it. even if you say that you wont right now, it wont last too long.

Since you will be changing the cams anyways, the MIVEC isnt as cracked up as it should be, just get a more agressive lift and you will have the same feeling. Plus, you probably will either port the turbo, or get a new one all together, whether or not you have an 8 or 9... i would say go with the 8, its cheaper... FOr the money you save you will be able to buy a good chunk of mods, and then blow any 9 out of the water...

i also wouldnt be too eager to buy the first 8 you see... shop around. I looked for 6 months before i bought mine. Also, keep in mind that when you test drive an evo, beat on it a little to see how you like the feel, and then DO NOT buy that one, lol... so test drive the 8 you dont want and beat on it. then test drive the 8 you do want to make sure it works well...

good luck, let us know what you do!!!

yea if you are going to mod it than just save some money and go with the 8. definitely look around a while, don't just jump into the first one you see and say i want it. look around and find the best one you can. keep us updated on what you decide to do
