Can I Insure My Car with JDM Bumper?

Picking up an evo 8 with JDM rear bumper.

i was wondering if i was to take it to my insurance company for them to look at it (normal inspection) will i be able to insure it?

i have heard 2 different stories:

1. they will insure me because they dont take off my rear bumper to check if the crash beam is there. but when i get into an accident im basically screwed.

2. they will notice that it doesnt look normal and they tell me they wont insure me with that bumper on.

also idk if anyone on this forum did but i heard on socalevo.net that someone made a crash beam to fit the 8 with the jdm bumper on it. if so plz let me know.

i have searched and whenever i do search only thing that comes up is people saying they got into an accident n insurance will buy them rear bumper

feedback is greatly appreciated

Just have your crash beam modified to work with the JDM rear.. that's what im going to do.

no they cannot "not" insure you for having that bumper on there..

thanks for the help.
yeah i saw that thread but my friend had told me someone made a crash beam for it. and some of those vendors sell the JDM bumper with the JDM crash beam along with it but do not sell it seperately as one part. Thanks.

even if you mod your crash beam, you insurance company can STILL deny coverage. Seriously guys why take the risk?

How can they deny a claim? They can cancel you I would think? But not deny? Comments?

If all else fails, call a different insurance company and take it up with them and see what the say?

I also have the beam removed and the JDM rear installed.

Also thats a 5 mph bumber that is removed correct? Whether or not its there or now won't help if you get hit at 50mph, damage will be significant either way...

Those bumbers are intented to minimize damage from a minor fender bender..
