Is there any issues with using a EVO 8 GSR suspension on a EVO 9 MR. I know the handling will be somewhat different but I am most concerned about fitment ??
I just recently noticed that my Front/Right Bilstein Strut is blown. No oil is present but I had a friend look at it as I went over a bump and noticed that its not absorbing any shock. It doesn't take much for my tire to hit my inner fender well. Its p*** me off so I need to replace it ASAP.. Its hard finding just one MR Bilstein Strut so I came across all 4 from a 05 GSR with low miles for an outstanding price, so before I cough up the cash do you guys think the install will go smooth..?? I think so but I just want to make sure..

its the same chasis, it'll fit. I have seen people put bilstein shock on non MR.
But in Japan, the evo ix we have, the rear suspension is slightly lower than evo 8, I dunno if it's true about US evo ix.

Stick with the MR suspension. You'll be disappointed if you switch to the GSR suspension.
How many miles on the car? The strut should be covered under warranty assuming you don't have more miles on the car than the suspension warranty covers.

I've got 13K miles on it and am stationed here in Germany. I've tried getting work done here under warranty but they've denied me several times.
Spending 550 for just one strut is HARD when I can double that amount and find a decent used set of coil overs, and sadly I can't spend that much with other stuff at mind especially with X-MAS around the corner.
The suspension am looking its in good shape and am paying half of what I would have to pay for just one single Bilstein Strut. So I have to settle for this for a min. until I get enough for some coil overs.
