Let me start by saying I tried searching, but I didn't get to many results. And none for specifically what I am experiencing.
Say I do a quick 3rd or 4th gear pull, I will pop it into neutral after initial accelleration, and the RPMs will gradually float down, like it is electronically controlled... My sentra would do this, but it was drive by wire.
If I'm not being clear, I'll try to restate.
3rd gear crusing I will go WOT till redline or close to it, disengage the clutch pop the car in neutral, let off the gas, and the RPMs gradually fall, like they do on DBW cars, until about 3k and then they call back to normal, is this because the car is still boosting or something? Still pressure in the intake system? Or is this somewhat of a failsafe put in there by mitsu so missed shifts at WOT won't cause as much damage. It doesn't seem like something is wrong, its just a little odd to be acting like a DBW car, under normal driving RPMs drop like normal.

Do a search on throttle hang. There are many threads on this. It is common.
