Question is: who can drive Stick on the column? lol

I first learned in my Grandfathers "International" truck in 1978-79 , It had the Stick on the steering column.
now thats old school.. lol

Then drove a 68 Beetle for a few years when i got old enough to drive.

too many more cars to list since then..

It's a combination of controlling yourself to not do crazy stuff that you don't have to skills to do and knowing what to do when situations get worse. Examples of both are some young idiots who live near my neighborhood, as there is a pretty sharp but fun corner that too many inexperienced drivers (mostly kids) end up thinking that they're F1 drivers and take the corner WAY too fast... and when they do and realize that, they end up panicking and hitting the brakes which turns into understeer, as proven by the numerous pairs of skid marks going in a straight (or slightly curved) line over the sidewalk rather than along the corner.

"No competition"? Don't jump to conclusions so quickly, Evos aren't unstoppable. Plus street racing is dumb. Reckless speeding on freeways is possible with any car. Being in complete control in such an uncontrolled situation on a public freeway is an illusion. And you asking these questions further supports why most 16 year-olds definitely shouldn't ever pilot this car.

Grampas old Chevy custom, thing was a *****, then my dads old CRX si wasn't as bad. By the time I got a nice car IS300 I had learned what not to do on a clutch an advanced from there, eventually upgrading.

I learned to drive stick on a friend's honda civic. I would let him use my land rover for a week and I'd take his car. Then I got the evo. I'm still getting used to it. I think I got it down now, but there are times where I stall out when I'm not really paying attention. The first day I got my evo, I was driving home from work and it was dark outside ( I work at night) and since I use my left hand to hold the wheel, I couldn't see the speedometer. I finally looked after a long while, and I was doing over 100! I freaked a little because the road I was on is notorious for having hidden cops in random places, so I slowed. So yeah, it's real easy to speed in these cars. Whether it's reckless or not is up to you. A word of advice, just don't do anything stupid and you'll be ok. It's really that simple. I daily drive my car, and while its a little difficult to hold back on the power of the evo, you have to keep yourself in check. Wow I didn't expect to write this much.

I learned when I was 12 or 13 in a 1991 dump truck; my dad owns an excavation company and said that if I am going to learn to run the equipment I had to learn to drive the truck first, double clutching and all. I hated him at the time now I can drive anything with wheels or tracks lol. Go figure. Now I am 26 and got my evo when I was 23.
As a side note:
Please be careful, an evo can be a lot of fun, however they are very dangerous. Don't be another one where only the wing survives.

My dad taught me when I was 12 or 13 on his work truck (which is the size of a UPS truck). I've never owned a car that wasn't stick since I was legally able to drive.

No, but "advanced manual maneuvers" will make a driver look less like an idiot while being able to better handle his/her car and prolong the lifespan of various hardware in the car.

I learned to drive stick at 16 on a 82 bmw 320is, then got a 02 civic SI at 17 and the evo at 21, The evo is the hardest stick I've driven but it may have something to do with my clutch, I have never driven on a stocker. If you aren't decent at stick the evo could be hard for you.
