Learned to drive a stick when I was ~12 (not on the road). My father taught me asap.

My first car was a stick, it was easy to learn on. After that, all of my cars but one has been a stick.

I learned to drive stick kinda late. I learned when I was 18-19. I got my license when I was 17. I really didnt think I was ever gonna drive stick, I couldnt get the hang of it. My friends tried to teach my an I kept stalling, bogging, etc. I even burnt out my friends clutch that he tried to teach me on. Finally when I was 19 I bought myself a stick car and got it down.

I drove automatic until I was twenty. It was a lancer es. I'm glad I got a used econo car for my first vehicle. It got scratched, bumped into, ignored, and abused. Now that I'm 21 I learned how to drive stick, got my evo, and am able to take care of my possesions alot better. Good luck to you!

well i learned from my uncle in his 95 camry with over 190kmiles on it and it still running strong. i stalled that **** about 5times then i got mad and never stalled it again. i learned on a hot summer day and so thats why i was sweating but anywhos i got my evo for a 1st car but i just bought the wrong one...sad i know but it was a fun car for a bit and i stalled it 1ce because of the aftermarket clutch. after that i got the hang of it but wind up selling it few weeks later on. insurance is just not worth it for my age and geting an evo is just crazy because its alot...and i mean ALOT! mine was around 4k a yr full coverage so thats another reason i sold it. now i got a auto altima its lame so im j.w if i cna just trade it in for a wrx or something and does anyone know if the insurance will be cheaper?

I first learned stick at a late age. I was 19 or 20 at the time and it was on an 03 Jetta GLI. From there I test drove many cars for fun from dealerships including a lancer Ralliart. I wanted to test drive an evo but they were only ordering evo's with a down payment. From there I drove a old 70 something 4-speed pick up truck. The steering was so loose on that thing, got it into 3rd one time and almost hit my boss.
From there I drove my sisters TC a few times and then last year I bought my own 5-speed. A 2000 ZX2 S/R. I know, nothing to brag about but it will hold me over till I get my evo. I'm never going back to an autotragic.

^ Well, it doesn't help if you provide the misspelled/incorrect name of another forum.

I learned how to shift on my first car, an 85 Prelude, when I was 17. I accidentally killed a puppy learning the release point of the clutch. I felt really bad.

i'm fortunate enough to have a dad who owns a couple of car dealerships so everyday Sunday when he would go in for a couple hours to work, I would go out with him and take manual mustangs around the lot to get the clutch down... didn't take me long before i mastered it!
