sounds like you didnt search very well... anyways the turbo back exhaust starts with the downpipe to either a catalyic (pretty sure spelled wrong) converter or a test pipe to the rest of the exhaust system. Obviously u will see more power gains through a tbe than a cbe.

it all depends on what muffler you go with. if you are looking for a quiet exhaust do a search "quiet exhaust" or vice versa if you want something loud. Just remember though loudness is based on someones definition of loud. Your best bet would be to find someone who lives around you who has owns an evo with aftermarket exhaust.

open DP(open downpipe)=bypasses the rest of the exhaust=loud as hell

If you keep some sort of high flow cat on there your car won't be too loud. I have an invidia exhaust and I love the way it sounds, although it is loud as hell.

Its where you take everything off your block and run straight off raw Motor power. Sound super sick.

than what spins the turbins

as everyone said already cbe is exhaust that starts from the CAT ...TBE starts from your Turbo....

obviously TBE would be the best bet.....if u want loud, get a full TBE with test pipe , no resonators in the piping......personally loud is annoying...i'm gettin tired of my TBE, but you get better power gains.
