What does it take to get an extremely reliable 400 AWHP?
no 30s.
there are 3 options for an evo that make sense.
stock engine, street car / fun racing... Green Turbo
stock engine / built engine , for road race, and drag ..... HTA35R
Race engine , DRAG ..... GT42R
anything else is a waste. green will whoop up on just about anything on the street. 35R is completely awesome for an inbetween turbo, plain on beating the big boys on and off the track. and if your going for complete race car only, 42R.

FYI an evo with 300 whp on a mustang dyno is capable of running in the high 11s low 12s...if you dont belive me ask someone who knows like Buscher Racing ect.
If you want quick turbo spool, just get whichever turbo kit u think is best for you with TWINSCROLL. You will end up paying a few thousand dollars if you go that route , but you will definitely feel the spool really quick!
that was on straight 93 octane, no meth or anything. 25 psi. 0 knock. Jestr was mind bottled that my car was making those numbers and was taking all the timing and boost without knocking. i have a thread in the engine/turbo/drivetrain forum if you want to see the graphs. imo, its the perfect setup.
My 0.02!
For a reliable 400 WHP Evo.... I am suggesting....
FPGreen
780s or higher (injectors)
Cams... Cossies, S2s or similar
Cam Gear(s) - Depending on year
Built head (Ported, polish, valve job, etc).... stock valves will do.
Ported mani and Intake Manifold
3-4" inch FMI
3" TBE - Buschur or similar
Good plugs... perhaps one grade cooler
91 OCT or higher
A custom tune from a very good tuner (This will define reliability and durability)
Optional: MBC or EBC
I am not debating that there are other ways to reach 400 WHP but IMHO this combination will get you there with a SAFE tune. While maintaining stock spool!
On another note.... if you decide to go to the 30R... please do yourself a favor and go with a 35R instead. Similar lag and more top end.

I think I'll be happy with 400 AWHP.
I am looking to do this:
1 - With stock relaibility.
2 - Without having to wait for spool up (I would like the turbo to hit full boost around 3500 RPM.
Cost is not the most important.
So far I have a full Block-Back exhaust (headers, downpipe, catless, catback)
I am going to go with the ETS Intake, 3.5 Inch intercooler, Lower pipe, upper pipe, short battery kit.
What else do I need?
I will be getting tuned immediately by AMS after I put that stuff in.
I am thinking a 30R will be a good kit for me, but I havent driven one yet so I'm not sure. - Oh yeah, this is 93 octane only. I buy my gas at shell.
