Automatic transmissions are big and take up the room in which the CAI piping would run. Hence they generally only fit on manuals, unless ya wanna get custom piping.

You could also move the battery to the trunk to make room for custom piping for a CAI. I almost did that, but went with RRM SRI and installed custom ram air using 3" insulated ducting.

it's not the battery that's in the way.....it's the size of the automatic tranny is too big to fit the piping down under the battery.

Trust me, there's room if the battery is moved. Boe and I were gonna make something, but I got too lazy to move the battery, and also figured out the ram air ducting... much easier!

J'sLancer why does your RRM intake sit at an angle like that different to the other pictures that I have seen? Did you do something to it?

Cool

I bought a 3" to 3" 90 degree rubber elbow from Home Depot along with new hose clamps. It's basically the same thing that the Injen SRI has. Had to cut the elbow back so the MAS would sit the way you see in the picture. It's less restrictive than the OEM rubber elbow... smoother and larger inside diameter lets air flow through easier to the throttle body. That's also why you see the small breather element attached to the valve cover, eventually I'll attach a fitting to my "custom elbow" to allow me to reconnect the hose that would normally run from the valve cover to the OEM elbow. Can't pass smog without that hose being connected.
