I want to say hi to everyone on my first post. I'm in the process of getting into my first Evo. I used to own an 04 STi, but have seen the light. Well here's my opportunity and question. Should I get a low mileage Evo VIII or a high mileage Evo IX MR?

 

why an MR? I've have both an 8 and a 9 and I prefer the 9 over it.

 

i have an 8 i like the 9 a little more but you cant go wrong with either car.

IX is like a cammed up VIII and a bigger Hotside on the turbo. I don't get the whole MR thing either. Unless you're dying for a 6-speed then you're wasting your time. Just my .02

the 8 got iron engine strong and the 9 not(they want it to make it light) so i will go for the 8..........

Dont get the MR, get a SE if you like the looks of the MR. I have a MR and the 6 speed sucks, it soo notchy i hate it !

 

I wouldnt take advice from a guy that has 2 different brand of cams in his car.

 

check into an IX GSR or SE model. you should be able to find one with low miles compared to visversa...
