I have an Evo and I'm enlisted.

Insurance is going to depend on your age, your driving record, and the area you live in.

The payments are going to depend on how much you get the car for, what your apr is, and how long you finance it.

You're not going to get a straight answer other than find out at a bank how much you can afford and then call your insurance company and find out how much it'd be to insure you. Then and only then will you truly know the answers to your questions.

There's just too many variables with asking everyone.

I've been in 12 years now and am on my third EVO.
Payments: $600 a month
Insurance $200 a month (31 years/good driving record)

Not trying to discourage you but this probably not the best car for your first one. It can be a handful with the payments, insurance and gas. Plus starting off in the air force your only going to be making between $1300-$1600 a month minus taxes. Unless your getting a big bonus I'd probably hold off and buy a car that gets good gas mileage and is much cheaper on insurance. I'm a Tech Sgt and the evo takes most of money, so as an airman it would be tough. AFSC means your job, If you don't have one yet make sure you get a garunteed one or you may be stuck as a cop or bus driver.

congrates on joining the usaf. I did 9.5 years from 1994-2003. It was a hell of a ride while it lasted. just do your best to save your money. the best way to make your money is to go tdy when the opportunity allows. you can make an easy 6K for 4 months plus your monthly pay but it depends were you go. I go t my evo when I got out of the service. best of luck

This should help you get a good idea of how much you could make.

I am an A1C and I have to work my *** off part-time to make enough to pay the bills. I got the car I wanted, but came across it at the wrong time. I could afford it alot easier, though if I had made sure that I had no other debt before I got it. Also, $450 on the loan, and $175 on the insurance per month. Then figure in 12mpg or less in town and 17-19 on the freeway @ $4.50 per gallon. Also, the Evo is expensive to fix (even doing the work yourself).

As was mentioned a couple posts up, do not go in without a GUARANTEED job. I am willing to bet that you will end up as a cop if you dont, and you will pry hate it. Almost everyone that I have met that has not wanted to be a cop, yet is placed there anyway, is miserable. Personally, I love it, but I also chose it. Best of luck!
