Unhappy Vacuum line popped off???

I had my car tuned about a week ago and my tuner did a very nice job. The car was so much more powerful and it impressed me so much since the tune added much greater performance. A few days ago though, I've noticed an intense drop-off in the performance all of a sudden. I gave my tuner clues and details on what's going on. My tuner found out that the vacuum line popped off, since the hand on my boost gauge is not moving whatsoever. I asked my tuner if this affects the performance and he said yes. Could anyone please explain the vacuum line popping off and how come it's affecting my Evo's performance so much. It's been a nightmare, but I'm going to my tuner to fix it for good. Any explanation to my situation will be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone.

next time your so called tunner should have used heavey duty zip ties for the vacum hose so it doesn't pop off again the reason why your losing power is because it's creating boost leak and the turbo doen't boost fully smple fix no worries soon youll be ripping it up again.

Red face Ahhhh...I see.

Thank goodness! I have no idea about the detailed stuff like this, but I did get very nervous. I took a couple of my cousins for a ride in my Evo since they had never been in one...And the car was just not the same car no matter how hard I pushed it. It was very heartbreaking because my Evo did not have that explosive GO POWER. I was at the point where I was going to live with the problem, but good thing I opened up to my tuner and asked him about what was going wrong. Thanks for your reply "IDRINKV8's." Any more info on my situation would be lovely...Thanks.

Loosing a vacuum line can do so much more than just loose precious boost pressure.

For example if you lost the line going to your fuel pressure regulator your car would run dangerously lean. I shouldn't even have to explain why thats bad. You can also loose the line going to the turbo wastegate which means super high boost spikes

I think the best way to test for leaks is to do a boost leak test and check the car out for leaks with by feeling around the tubes and connections listening for leaks. Its easy to do and even easy to build if you have some spare time to pick up a little bit of PVC or ABS, a cap of appropriate size, and you can buy these valve stems like on your tire at an auto parts store.

Don't ask me what size i used because I have a maf pipe and its slightly larger than the stock unit . Good luck out there.

Smile Hey how's it goin'?

Thanks for inquiring man. Yup, I went to my tuner's house earlier today and he got it all fixed up. He put a "zip tie" on it like you recomended and it's all good now. I hope it won't pop off again, but the tuner said it'll be ok from now on. Thanks for everyone's help and thanks "IDRINKV8's" for following up on my status. You are the man! My car is performing much better now. see ya around my friend... Thanks.

Smile You know something...

...When you do more and more mods, you have to look after your car's health and maintenance more and more. I hate to say, but you have more worries to mantain the car since you have done certain things to it. I'm getting more and more educated day by day...Even though I have a long way to go. hahaha.
