I really don't see what the big deal here is, and don't understand why you are trying to justify your decisions to the users of this board. You started this thread as an invitation to an argument. I don't see a significant number of the users of this board unnecessarily bashing people who do body mod's to their Lancers, as you claim. Yes there are a few, but that is expected anywhere.(trolls)
This is the point, and the only point: If you put "Evo" type modifications on your car, the IMPRESSION(whether you like it or not) is that you are trying to make your car look like an Evo(you can deny this until the cows come home, but this is a fact). In which case, it is NATURAL for people to then question what you have done to your engine. This is the way the world works my friend. Why? Well the Evo is a notoriously "fast" car, with a very strong engine. So the "engine" question is just the natural progression in a conversation about your vehicle. Don't take is so personal man.
Anyhow, I think I have ranted enough here. Bottom line, you have a great car, and doing some of these basic appearance changes is a great idea. If anyone begrudges you that, then just shrug it off as their opinion.
wow is this two slices short of an arguement still going on? i think LanEvo's got the best, you should just make your lancer look like that car in that pic up there, now thats personal expression, a whole lot of
, and this dumbass-lead-to-nowhere conversation would cease to exist no more

Usually having a car pose as something it's not is considered ricey as well.
Really depends who you ask. I always thought "ricey" was more or less a universal term. Guess not.
I find it hard to believe that anyone in the import or compact performance scene can call anything rice, like its a bad thing. Everything we do is based off of a "RICE" style... When the import and compact sport scene first hit, everything was rice. It would be like people who enjoy hip-hop or R&B saying that the sugar hill gang sucks. Granted it might not be your cup of tea, but you still have to respect the ROOTS. I've been around the board a little bit and for the most part keep my opinion to myself. I'm just happy that there is still a import scene to still be apart of. I believe that instead of calling a nissan with a TYPE R badge (which I've seen) ricey. We should call it what it is, Trash. And the driver doesn't have a lick of knowledge. But don't stomp on the term that originally set us apart from the others. I here by hold the first Ricer's Anonymous meeting:
My Name is James and I am a Ricer...
My point is, we are all ricers, first step is to get over it and move on...

Furthermore, people like to base judgement on others and call it "rice", "ricer", "riceboy", etc. to make themselves feel better to think they are doing something better with their own rice rockets.
BTW, hey I'm the #1 RICER so you can all bow down to me, freakin idiots calling others ricers eventhough they are "riced out" themselves.
actually buddy "rice rockets" came from "harley bikers"... the origin of the term rice rocket came from the words... "rice burner" and "crotch rocket" in which they said to people who would own Honda CBR's and such... that's your history class for today

didn't i say that?
