Looking good is not ricey.
where i stand on the whole performance/look topic...
i drive an integra (i know it isnt a lancer but i just like to learn about other cars too) and it started out completely stock. now i have a ww avenger kit, 18" alloy rims, coilovers that can make my car touch the ground. so from the outside i just look like some "rice" kid. well under my hood i have a totally rebuilt engine. all new head, valves, guides, cams (everything), new pistons 9.1:1 compression, garret T3/T4 turbo, hks intercooler...yadda yadda...i have spent around $5500 on this car in two years. mostly on engine parts...and you know what? i still drive 75 on the highway, and stop at lights, and drive (somewhat) near the speed limit. but now i look a lot better when i do it.
so who cares how fast your car goes...you cant drive that fast anyways. unless you are going to race it (i average under 12 sec 1/4mile) in which you can still look better when people are making fun of your wing (which i dont have...i have fwd, no need for a big wing).
