Question I have a question about buying an EVO

Hey guys
I just joined the site and i must say i love it!!! I have been into Evo's for a long time now. Right now i drive a 92 civic hatch, I have had it since 2002 and Ive put in a JDM B18 converted it to a manuel and added the Sniper body kit. The Car runs Gr8, but looks like crap now. I didnt know how much how much work Maintaining a kit would be, but thats not y im here. I ve always wanted a Evo! I friend of man had 1, got rid of it because her wanted a "Family car" so he got a Dodge Ram I told him he would hate himself for doing it and he did. He turned around and got rid of the truck and got a used Rally Edtion Evo. Hes doin good now. Now that i have a good job i think its time I get one. When i first saw the Evo X I didnt like the way it looked! I used to work for Mitsubishi back in 2005 and always fouhnd myself sitting in this Graphite Gray Evo MR that was never sold in the showroom whenever I Had nothin to do which was almost all the time lol I liked the Old Evo much more, but now the new one had grown on me, especially with the OEM Aero Kit, I know that i would never buy a used turbochraged car. Im really serious about that, too many friends that had problems with that! So dont try to convince me to do it, lol.
Down to the point i was at a dealership back in feburary when the first Evo first arrived here in Maryland, I watch them drive it off the truck, it was a fully loaded silver GSR for about 42k. That is one car im not payin for!!. mitsu kept tellin me that they were not lowering the price on any evo. I have never bought a car b4 and need some advice!! I really want a rally red GSR with everything but maybe except the navi, im not really pressed for it but if theyll throw it in then cool, the price for all that should be about 38k, if nebody here has bought an evo for less then 35 let me now how u did it, please!!!!! thanks

Welcome! There are lots of people getting GSRs for about 30k. You may want to check the vendors on this forum.

South coast mitsubishi in CA is selling them for 28999 plus tax/title/license, maybe you can get your dealer to match.

2009 Mitsubishi Evolution X

I just came home from the store, and read this 2009 car buyers guide, and the information they had on the 09 Evo was that it will come with a TS-SST tranny and a 6 speed manual tranny, Is that true?, should I wait for the 09 for 1 extra gear

Mav I read that too. I think it is a typo. But if you could get a X with a 6 speed manual-then I would wait. The five speed is great, but one more gear may mean better fuel economy on long distance drives and the car would not be as loud.

2009 Mitsubishi Evolution X

The thing is that I have been waiting a year to save up for the X GSR but If somebody from Mitsu would tell me now it is true that the 2009 X will come with a 6 speed tranny, i think i would wait, but i really want the X now, but another problem is that when the 09 X comes out if i go to the stealership when it does the price off the break will more then likely be ridiculous and i would have to wait even longer for it to go down like i am now, dont know what to do,

to be honest i dont think stealerships really know whats going to be on the 2009 evo x's just yet. but i guess you could argue that they wont say anything about it because they are trying to get rid of their 08's

Thats true if you wait till 09 and there was nothing changed on the evo, then you can pick up an 08 a severely discounted price if they have any left.

But on the other hand, missing out on the 0% financing may hurt. A 6spd would be nice though.
