FP Red with my bolt ons?

im really curious to know if i should go with the FP Red turbo or a 30r? my mods are : Injen Upper/Lower IC pipes, TurboXS FMIC, Forge mbc, HKS carbon ti exhaust, HKS test pipe, Greddy rs bov, BC 272/272's, Walbro 255 fp, ACT hd clutch/flywheel... right now im making 330whp/324tq @ 24psi...

i also have these parts in my garage waiting to be installed... im waiting to choose a turbo first and doing this project over the winter when the car is in the garage: MR manifold, Invidia o2 housing, ams fuel rail, ams 1000cc injectors, BC springs/retainers, HKS cam gears...

how much whp/tq do you think i would be able to make with a FP Red using all those mods and being on a stock block? also would i need anything else to run a larger turbo other than what i have? i heard i would need a double pumper setup but not sure...

could really use some opinions on this, this would be my 1st build i have ever done... btw i have an 03' evo VIII

what's an MR manifold? Anyway, you can reach 500+whp on the Red with your mods. Do you have a goal? Why the fuel rail and injectors when you don't even know the kit you want? 1000cc's is bigger than what you'll need of you're going GT30r or Red.

I'm guessing he's referring to the Megan Racing Manifold.

I'm currently working on a AMS 30R kit that was built and tuned by AMS im very unimpressed with the spool of this turbo it seems to spool exactly the same as a 35R , After driving this car versus mine it isnt even fun to drive around town because the spool up is that bad ,
Most people would put a Green on a stock block evo unless its built more for drag then DD or auto-x ect.
1 because it spools quicker
2 because the green on a stock block is ALMOST all it can handle the red gives you a very slight increase in power only because the stock block is limited to the
<500 horsepower range safely

^^^ OT i know, sorry man.... if you put a green on because you have a stock block, whats the potential if you decided to build the block later or would you most likely want to just upgrade the turbo if you built the block afterwards?

yeh i was referring to the megan racing manifold... i have the fuel rail and injectors because i was going to go with a 35r turbo but other family issues have come up and i dont have that money right now for the kit, and the red seems to be producing similar hp for a lot cheaper price.

you should definitely go with the red. I am thinking about getting the bc 272 cams, how is the driveability/ idle with those cams?

Did you guys read the AMS cam test? The brian cower cams performed the worst out of all the ones tested plus they were really far off and needed to be degreed.

Unless you mean the Buddy Club cams i have no idea how those perform.

i like my cams alot, my idle is fine, they have more mid range power, rather than the hks 272s which produce more low end... i have no problems with my cams at all and i jumped from 270whp - 330whp on the cams alone... they work well for me (brian crower stage 2 cams)

I have a single Walbro 255 fuel pump on my setup with the FP red and I made 549WHP on Q16 at 34PSI. Good luck with your build. I know mine is super fun.

Go for the fp red, better response than a 30r single scroll and the same top end as a 30r and will cost you less because you wont have to buy a kit. 500 whp and 500wtq is no problem for the red with proper mods.

honestly i think those cams are the best bang for the buck! if anyone has had any bad experiences with them please let us know! im only going to change to the kelford because they seem to have the most gain, and thats what i want with my upgraded turbo, since i want to keep stock appearance with massive hp... im going with the fp red... thanks everyone!
