To have IC piping and an intake, i think an intake is but idc about that. but is IC piping, the most im doing to my car is IC, maybe piping, intake, catback and DP. 22 psi. ill only do the lower one if so, but id like the look of the whole kit with an intake. please let me no, thanks

technically yes... it is "illegal" only because of the emissions... california is the worst for emissions standards...

Everything is illegal in California even farting. I have all that stuff for 2 yrs now and I never have problems with CHP. Just be cool don't give'em a reason to pull you over and you'll be fine.

i have been pulled over and inspected. a hood pop session basically by the local PD. they did ask where the CARB sticker was for the shiney pipes i had. i told the officer that the smog ref told me that it has nothing to do with "emissions" as there is NO emissions equipment on that pipe. (the upper pipe or the bottom one) the emissions portion lies on the intake pipe. is should have a recirulation for the PCV valve. that is what the smog refs are concerned about when they smog. so it is a grey area about being "legal". its like changing your muffler....is it legal? say you got into an accident and the body shop took your car to a muffler shop and installed a "different" muffler. its not "stock", however, there is still a muffler. albeit, it may be free flowing, and louder, there is still a "muffler". its a grey area....

as others have stated, DONT GIVE THEM A REASON TO BE PULLED OVER. the reason we were pulled over is because i was letting a friend of mine drive my car and he got on the go pedal unbeknownst to him the local PD was down an alley way we went zooming past....fail...ahhahha...

Any thing that changes in the intake tract or exhaust tract before the cat will need to be CARB legal. If its not CARB Legal then you can get an emissions ticket for it. Anything that is part of the emissions system. I've seen a ticket for colored silicone vacuum hoses before as well. I know its stupid and its the law. Personally I don't care and mod the crap out of my cars anyways.

Catback exhaust is not a problem in California.
For intake you can just get an AEM which most likely pass CARB cert. since i believe AEM has applied and its just in the pending stages. Might want to double check, i'm not 100% on that.

Most AEM intakes are CARB exempted and 50 states legal

yes you'll pass the sniffer portion, but visual inspection maybe depending on if the smog station knows what they're looking at.
