6 speed or 5 speed evo better for moding and track? thx just need like 3 replys that no wat ther talkn about..

MR is faster/5 speed stronger

 

o boy... just a warning these questions drive people crazy on this site. I don't really mind. The 5 speed is better then the six. Most people who buy MR's end up switching to a five speed (who significantly mod their evo) . The six speed has a week gear and is not as strong as the five. Especially since your going to take this to the track go with the 5 and save money now and in the long run.

 

5 speed is better to modify if you plan on tracking your EVO.

 

5 Speed if youre going to track it or harshly mod it, and 6 speed if youre mildly modding it and for daily driving.

 

I think every outsider thinks the MR is the top of the line, most expensive, best Evo you can get. I'm not sure why. My optioned out SSL IX cost the same as the MR when I bought it new. If you want to track your car regularly, get a 5spd SE or the RS. If you want a tricked out interior and low revs on the highway, get the MR. If you like to cruise with the sun on you and a good sound system right off, get a SSL.

 

Best is a shep 5 speed with a evo IX 1st Gear and 2nd and 5th + evo 8 3rd and fourth gear..
Most people go with this option when buyin a shep tranny, talked too a tech from shep and he explained how the longer 3rd and 4th help keep the shift points the same..
