This is the part that I find really hard to believe.
If the deal sounds too good to be true it usually is. Especially with this fishy story.

get it if you want a really expensive lawn ornament. It's really not hard to tell a lancer from an Evo. For one thing, interior will be definitely different even if he went through the trouble of getting OEM exterior. Let's assume it is a non-turbo Evo. There is no point of purchasing it cheap when most likely you're going to run it with a turbo. Save yourself the hassle and look for one with a turbo. A turbo is a vital organ of an Evo. People will always give you the military story. I've been there, done that. If you had known any better, it wouldn't end up on evom.

i would rather get an evo with more miles and a turbo, than one that is basically a crap car. 15K hell no..... get an older one with turbo...if this is even true your gonna have to buy everything and it might cost you a lot of money in parts and labor to turbo the car again.

try pulling the rom from the car and see whats the Id and check the chassis number.

i have seen an evo with no turbo HOOKED up, the guy basically bypassed the entire turbo unit and ran the intake piping straight to the IM.

if you dont see any turbo at all something is up. just take your time

The more I think about it, the less possible that it's an Evo.

Yeah, need pics. There's too much work to remove a turbo and make it "look the same". You can't. Sounds like this guy is working on a screw job.

alrite another thing to help see if it's an evo 9 if it has ACD. It prolly is an evo since u said the vin # says it is.

But for 15K w/o a turbo...? idk do what u want but you could find an evo around that price with a turbo. Idk how much 9's are going for but i know you can find 8's around that price
