I am waiting to see pictures. If it is a real evo, it seems it is only a good deal if you plan to use an upgraded turbo anyway. If you just want an evo ix turbo you will have to buy parts pay for install, and hope that it runs as well as it should. By the time you do all that you might as well have bought a regular ix with a less questionable past.

The story sounds very fishy. A more reasonable story involves too much boost a wrecked turbo, and a scheme to unload the abused car without letting on that it had been so abused.

needs pics to tell for sure, but sounds like a lancer w/ some evo parts and possibly a vin number swapped on from a lancer... that or some really weird f'd up plumbing from the motor to the exhaust.... you said they left the IC on there? Who knows what else was swapped... i wouldnt touch the car personally

One of two things is going on here.

1. The guy is trying to scam you.

2. The guy is a complete idiot.

In either case, you shouldn't think about buying it from him.

I've deployed tons of times and NEVER trusted my stuff to some stupid girlfriend. That's why you break up with them BEFORE you leave, if you have any slight doubt at all that they will not be retarded with your stuff while you are gone.

It would be cheaper and easier to buy a new evo ix turbo then do all that work. THe story is that the guy who bought the turbo made it run without it.

It would really have no power with 8:1 compression on a 2 liter. Maybe 50 or 60 HP.

If someone was dumb enough to do that to an evo I'd be scared to death about what else was done with the car. And without being able to push the engine hard, you have no idea what other problems could be lurking. If you buy the car be prepared for the worst.
