For transmission oil, I'm going to try Neo Synthetic. The Subaru WRC team uses this stuff, so I figure it should be good enough for my Evo.

so mitsu can't make you use what they "recommend" and if you don't void your warranty. its all about making more money. tell them about that case ruling and they will give you deer-in-headlights look.

more power to the consumer. [/B][/QUOTE]

just read owners manual - says not using syn oil will void the warantee

yes the oil has to be within spec ie syn oil 5w-30, 10w-30, etc whatever it says in the manual.
they just can't make you use a specific brand.

and i don't have a owners manual so i wouldnt know what it says about the warrantee

so do to the manual that states synthetic , will any synthetic oil do
like Amzoil or Motul ??
Also Mobil 1 which is what the dealer uses (i have use this oil on my previous car) which IMO is the best oil for the amount that you pay ..

use oil witha tamper evident seal that works (not mobil 1). after seeing the "oil" (water) from a quart of mobil 1 i switched to red line. red line has a tamper evident seal that gives peace of mind.

My buddy has a sentra spec v and he just spent a bunch of money putting royal purple in and during an oil change they flushed him out. Now he has to redo it...

For engine oil (which I know you aren't asking about) I would only use Mobil 1, had great experiences with it. However, for tranny Amsoil is the only one I trust.
