This is interesting.... you have to be a dealer to register a vehicle for sale at... let's say Manheim Auctions, and most dealers that buy EVO's know what they are looking for. This sounds like he had his car repo'd and stripped it for the parts before the bank took it back and then the bank sold it at auction ...this is know as a RR-TRA sale and only scrap/salvage yards buy these vehicles for parts.

hmm wow you act like every evo you encounter and most of the evos you buy are crapped out cars. some of us that put the money and time in our evo would not dare mess with powerlevels we cant handle if you launch alot it would be smart to build the TC but i can see people getting lucky and getting a evo just to not make the payments or wreck it and get it taken from them. Or as i have seen first hand rich people that buy two evos just to basically screw one over and just buy another one who cares. i have a friend in UTAH that owns 3 salvage yards he gets evos with clean titles all the time and of course salvage titled ones in all conditions and sells them for 8000-17999. he has a black evo now for 8999 that just needs body parts engine perfect and it runs full interior

We buy all the Evo's we can find that are not wrecked....we do a post sale inspection to make sure we are not buying somebody's headache....This means every Evo I buy pass's the post sale and that the car is B condition or higher. Unfortunately 7 out of 10 Evo's at the auction have been beat to death and not taken care of!! I sell these vehicle's and the picture is from a customer that beat the crap out of his car within the Limited Warranty we have to give per the law in our state! Alot of people on this board are mis informed when it comes to the value of Evolutions from a dealer's stand point....we have to service these vehicle's and then warranty them....that is why there is a premium price on them!

Back on the post....this dealer has a very nice EVO in great shape!! I think that the price he offered you is very reasonable and a good deal!! Good Luck

BTW what dealership do you own?

I have been basing my pricing what I see (and asking through pm's) evom members paying for Evo 9's, most of which have been through dealers. I realize that a dealer is in the business to make a profit. The private evo sales seem to be very stagnant as well. I personally think too many people are in panic mode in this economy.

Not true at all. Panic mode you say how about this. What if you buy a evo and you have a decient job income coming in family taken care of food in kitchen bills paid and money left over. Now you have a evo making the monthly payments and modding little by little. Now because of this economy you loose your job and you try your hardest and get another job but not making nearly as much as you were making. thats panic mode dude some stuff has to go and most likely its always the expensive stuff. you have to keep a roof over your head thats number one then family then food car is way down on the list. SO why the hell would i undersale my perfectly good evo unless im am serverly hurting for cash. most folks try to make just alilttle money off the mods they have not to mention the car is put together and thats stuff you dont have to do. Most of the folks selling there evos are not in any hurry to sell hints the pricing and those that are willing to sell dirt cheap. the darn car is going to have some issues. Even dealers buy crap cars that they somewhat fix up and sell for a decient price to just unload the problem to another person. its a nasty cycle and his economy is not helping anybody move cars

Good dealers do not make mistakes like you think....15 years and 2% chance I bought a lemon. We sell over 100 used cars a month ranging from $3000 to $115,000 and right now we are busy.

People lose their jobs all the time and you are right....Sh*t happens all the time....not just in the financial nightmare going on right now. It's funny how I see this car and that car at the Auction Stripped and REPO'd ....

And imagine a dealer bought this car this afternoon for $13,000 with only 29k
Sold AS-IS, RED LIGHT, Frame-unibody, Mechanical Problem-Engine apart.

I am not just talking about Evo's. I understand poeple are losing their jobs (people lose their jobs all the time), but I know a lot of people who have jobs and money they normally would spend but they are being very cautious with their money, only buying what is neccessary.

for sure. In fact u allready have. Your t case is allready disinegrated into sand. Tomrrow your car wont go anywhere. In fact, your t case is so bad, your car wont even start. Be careful, cars with these bad transfer case symptoms have been known to spntaneously combust. Dangerous. Very dangerous. Stay away from it.

lol =) j/k!

This T/C was launched many many times (7 Times inside an hour) and when the spider gear finally let go he kept driving it for 3 days before bringing it in to us....this was a stupid kid that didn't know any better....
His exact words were.... I bought an EVO and it should preform like an EVO....

I've never launched it, but I would hope that the Transfer case could withstand 7 launches.

I had assumed my clutch was the weak link in the drive train.

clutches are not as mechanically complex as a tranfer case, differential, or tranny. Bushwacker trannys and shep tranyss both treat their trannys with cryo or some coating. It makes them tougher. Overall though, I think somone should come out with some forged titatanium internals with a carbid coating. (i made that up i dont know if its even a possibility). But that would be a guaranteed way of making th trannys tougher. The all wheel drive is what causes so much stresss. My 96 integra, i can beat the **** out of it and launch as much as i want on my oem clutch. And the worst than happened was i replaced the clutch with a new oem clutch. One of the springs tore out of the clutch plate, so i bought a new one and installed in in a day. With only 150 hp, and being front wheel drive, theres not enough force to obliterate parts in the tranny that quickly. And the tires just spin which doesnt create much oif a load, wheras an Evo has a lot more torque working on the drive train, and the awd means that the tires wont just freely spin. something has to give. The integra lets the wheels brake lose and thats what "gives". all the torque on that evo has to go somewhere! T weak point is going to be between the motor and the wheels. Pick one!
