Getting Evo next week!

Hello all I am completely new to the community, but wanted to introduce myself since I will be probably asking a lot of stupid questions in the months to come.

I finished all the haggling with the Mitsubishi dealers that are trying desperately to get rid of their last few 2008's in stock, and it looks like I will be getting mine in the next 2 weeks since it will be shipped from out of town.

I've been itching this past month when I decided to try and get one, and now I guess my first question is if I can get any advice on things I should read up on or know before I get my Evo.

Cheers

lol its cool.

I honestly don't know, I work 3 miles from my house so I'm pretty sure I'm not going to mod it in the direction of an every day driver

Probably start with the biggest bang for my buck like the letting the turbo breathe better:
Up and down pipes, boost controller and gauge, new exhaust.

Then maybe new tires and wheels?

Not really sure, I have read some posts, but any personal advice would be appreciated

welcome man! As far as what mods to do, you said ur not looking for a DD so depending on ur cash situation ( of course ) i think you going in the right direction. Do simple things TBE,FMIC,IC piping,MBC and boost gauge,O2 housing etc.... then with a tune you should make anywhere between 300-350 AWHP. Once that gets old then its time for a bigger turbo

Congratz on the purchase of your X.

The first mods I would get would be turboback exhaust, and intake, boost controller, and a re-flash. You'll pick up a good 50whp doing all that.

yeah i would go with IC pips, intercooler, bigger injectors, E-85 turn boost up when tuned, intake, full 3inch echaust, and you could have a pretty fast car right there. then when you get sick of that, cams, springs, retainers, tune. and enjoy for a while. IDK how the X's due clutch wise. IDK much about them. but maybe do that. and eventually a bigger turbo.... i mean if you dont care about DDing the car. then save save save, and build the block, and put a nice turbo on it. and you should be good.
