Idk I believe there are plenty of threads on here that show evos make good torque if not great with horsepower, and my evo 8 tranny has lasted longer than all my subbie buddies trannies, although I have seen blown t cases on an evo due to high 6000+rpm launches, I've stuck with 5700rpm launches and its still goin strong (knock on wood lol)

but I've heard that subbie trannies are glass, even the owners say the same, but my buddies just used that as a reason to upgrade to ppg gears, which i have to say are awesome

but its usually the driver that makes or breaks the car, to sum I love both subaru and mitsubishi, its impressive that both have so much r&d and engineering which makes them what they are, awesome cars

It gets really ridiculous actually. But welcome and very nice WRX . I was up in Oviedo not to long ago. I saw quite a few more Subies up there than i do down here.

The MR's duel clutch tranny is the weak one, or at least untested. I have read a lot of people putting down the old MR 6 speed, but it is still good for 400 WHP. The 5 speed is meant to be bulletproof. You cannot get the FQ 320 or higher with the duel clutch, because they are afraid adding power will break the transmission.

I make 301 Foot pounds at the wheels at 3800 RPM with an exhaust and a tune, and I have a street legal magnaflow cat.

The WRX tranny is "glass" (ie. you can't do thousands of red line clutch dumps or flatfoot shifts) but the STI transmission is damn near bulletproof. There was a claim that the tranny was made my Porsche but I don't know if that's true.

With how the tranny feels in this car, and how it felt in the Porsche, I certainly can believe it.
